Late check in, and room was not clean or ready. Bed had no support, old. Good quality sheets and towels.
I arrived to stay at the Royal York on behalf of law firm. When I came to check-in, one of the front desk staff, Will, asked me for photo ID. I then noticed that I had left my entire wallet on the train. He showed zero sympathy for my situation and did not even offer to ask if there’s anything he could do to assist. Instead, his only concern was whether I could afford to pay for the room. It was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful of him to act in that manner, especially at the Royal York. Furthermore, when I showed him my ID on my phone, he glanced at it and incorrectly assumed I was only 19 years old. I never expected to be treated so poorly within the first few minutes of my stay. It further went downhill as my room was next to the elevator, which was extremely loud to the point that it kept me up all night.
I was expecting $50 off our meals but I cannot verify if it was applied. No details provided
Stay was fine. I appreciated the room upgrade. $70/night for valet parking is steep, even for downtown. My disappointment was with housekeeping, as I left my room at 7 am and came back at 2:45 pm to find my room had still not been cleaned. I had a work call until 3:20 pm and so had the DND sign on the door from 2:45 to 3:20 pm, but promptly removed it when I left at 3:25 pm. I returned at 10 pm to find that my room still hadn’t been serviced.
We were overnight in Toronto before heading out on a cruise the next day. We wanted somewhere nice, convenient, and welcoming, even though it was a quick overnight. The Royal York fit the bill and we'd stay again.
I have stayed at the Royal York many times and over the years it keeps getting better. The lobby bar is one of my favourite places for a cocktail in Toronto. All of the staff is friendly and welcoming. Great spot to be when you're away from home!

Wifi Quality was poor. Room was noisy. Stayed two nights. Did not get rest either night due to poor sound insulation between rooms. A guest talking on the phone in the next room, at normal volume is clearly audible. Makes it hard to sleep.
Was here for the Good Roads Conference The check in process at the Hotel was poorly done and they seemed ill-prepared. Waited in line at the main check-in only to be denied and re-directed downstairs, where we waited for another 25 mins only to be re-directed back upstairs where we had to wait again. Seminar rooms were often too small and too warm In one such room, there was space for additional chairs but none were provided. In that same room, the presentation screen could not be seen as it was installed too low. Lactose free options would be appreciated. Coffee should be available at all times for breaks and in between sessions. Staff are top notch. Always professional and respectful and eager to help in any way they can. For a future stay, I'd love to tour parts of the hotel that you dont get to see as a regular person. I'd even be willing to pay for it!
