My wife and I attended your property to celebrate our nephew’s wedding. Initial interaction was underwhelming. I had called earlier (the day before arrival )to request an early check-in and was told that they possibly would be able to do something and would let us know once we arrived around 12 o’clock the following day. Upon our arrival, they told us they were still looking into it and would get back to us. This dragged on until well after 3:30 PM which really didn’t turn out to be much of an early check-in. We had hung around the lobby in anticipation of the early check-in, just for it to drag out. Had we known that the early check-in wouldn’t happen, we would have made some other arrangements for activities. There had also been an issue on the day we were checking out (July 10). My wife and her sister (mother of the groom) and two other family friends had a verbal altercation with a member of your staff while sitting poolside. The staff member had come to set up one of the cabanas where my wife and the others were sitting in the shade. There was no umbrellas allowed up on the pool deck, and it was extremely hot and sunny out that day, so my wife and the others had sought refuge under one of the empty cabanas. As a note, there were several free unoccupied cabanas present during this time. Your staff member chose the o cabana my wife and the others were under to set up. While letting them know he needed to set up this cabana, he was rude, aggressive and inhospitable. In this interaction, which had been reported to the manager that day, he had even taken my wife’s water bottle which had been under the cabana and threw it in her direction onto one of the chairs. This was far below what one would consider as below average treatment, never mind that this is happening at a Fairmont property. When I heard of this interaction, I found it disappointing. I worked for Canadian Pacific for over 33 years, and several of the hotels that Canadian Pacific owned have transitioned over to Fairmont, so I’m aware of the standard to which these properties are held and where they hope to be seen in the “hospitality industry”. I hope the Fairmont takes their guests concerns to heart. If you require any further feedback regarding our stay please let me know.

I have visited this hotel five times before. We had visited the hotel the previous year also. The keep up their high standard. From the bellman to the gold floor employee, the service was excellent. They keep in mind our habits and preferences. A chocolate tray and a bottle of champagne are always welcome. The food selection on the gold floor was excellent. Our room was on the golf field's edge for the first time. It's a serene and gorgeous view. All in all, it's a fantastic stay. Also, I saw that the hotel is refreshing the painting and is doing some improvement. The staff at the gold floor told me that the gold floor will have a refresh. I will be happy to see that on my next trip to Fairmont Orchid.
Hotel was partially under construction but we had a nice stay. Disappointed that there were not more restaurant options in and around the hotel. Fairmont Orchid water bottles and cold water dispensers t/o hotel was a nice amenity. Beautiful golf course & view from hotel but pool was very average.
Being local to the island, this is our hotel of choice when my wife and I want to do a little getaway. The employees here are nice, but the Gold floor staff are truly exceptional! Our main point of contact this time was Jasmine and she was wonderful! She accommodated any requests we had and made our stay that much more special. We also wanted to give a little shout out to the Gold floor dining room attendants and the local reservations staff who also made this stay a memorable one! Mahalo to you all!

I have stayed at Fairmont hotel for years and although the grounds were outstanding the hotel from being a fairmont the quality was not comparable to most fairmont I have stayed at the rooms were not fairmont quality furniture was outdated some rooms shower heads were corroded you can see carpet faded in many areas, it looks like there is an effort to do a major Reno on a small budget as things are progressing slowly my guess is new owners are trying but millions need to be injected before it meets fairmont expectations. On a good note I see painting and some upgrades optically looks great but I feel it needs more hotel restaurants and bars are basic The fairmont in Maui should be the standard of what I would expect in a fairmont I would however like to be positive and will say the gold level service was excellent, our server Lisa was above and beyond in doing her job and a great employee as well the food and service from the rest of the staff in the gold lounge was excellent
The good: location, beach, petroglyph hike, hotel grounds, the live music at Browns and the lounge at sunset (our favorite) The not good: overall level of service (especially by the pool), room quality, restaurant quality Overall we felt it was a good-ish stay. We know this is a notch above the Hilton/marriott and a notch below the true 5 stars on the island but we were hoping for a little more. The rooms felt more like 3 star and the service for sure (very few hellos as you walk around tho we got some, very slow and sparse service by the pool you almost need to chase down and same applies for the bars). The restaurants left something to be desired - we felt Binchotan was a wasted meal even for happy hour, browns was good but overpriced aside for paying for the view and experience, and breakfast was just decent enough to not feel like we regretted buying the package with it but unless you get a deal it’s really nothing special and not worth it. We did appreciate the staff changing our rooom after checking in because the first was really not to our liking and getting us a credit too for the issues along the way but doubt we would come back. I will say last time I stayed we had a nicer room and it was def a level below this time. The good news is the potential is there and the good stuff is real good and the bad stuff can be addressed thru management changes

My daughter and I had a wonderful time at your resort! There was a few hiccups at breakfast but Thea went above and beyond to make it right. Amazing customer service!!! She deserves to be recognized for her efforts! Ken our omelet maker was extremely fun and kind and very personable. All meals were absolutely delicious! Thank you for making our stay one that we will remember forever:)
