Additionally, Fairmont Mayakoba offers tastings of edible insects. The varieties include: dried chapulines, maguey worms, ant eggs, river crabs, and escamoles (a larva of the chicatana ant). These insects are considered a delicacy in Mexico, as they are not farmed but hand-harvested during specific seasons.
