What are some of the best on-property experiences?

There is plenty to do just steps away from your hotel room! Our leisure department can assist you with paddle boarding, kayaking and even Hobie Cat sailing, at no addition cost. To ensure you can maintain your fitness regime, the gym is accessible 24 hours a day, plus you can visit our tennis courts too. During the cooler evenings, relax in our heated Jacuzzi and allow the water to bring you to a state of rejuvenation.

The “Bajan Experience” crafted by our culinary team introduces you to some of the island’s best bites. This dinner is specially prepared on request and is a must do for a taste of the food that locals enjoy like macaroni pie, fish cakes and fresh catch of the day!

What is one local dish that I need to try in Barbados?

Don’t leave Barbados without trying “Pudding & Souse”! Cooked pork with a medley of fresh garden herbs, cucumber, lime and scotch bonnet peppers, is paired with a seasoned sweet potato puree and a few slices of steamed breadfruit. If you have the opportunity to indulge in this dish, make sure to have it with a glass of our liquid gold, rum. This is a favourite of most Bajans on Saturdays, when you can find the neighbourhood corner shop serving this much-loved dish.

What do you love most about Barbados?

Besides the sand, sea and sun, the people of Barbados are amongst the friendliest in the region (and even worldwide). Our hospitality is incomparable and welcoming visitors to enjoy every experience is for us, very rewarding.

Are there any hidden treasures on the island?

Hunte’s Gardens, also known as “the most enchanting place on earth” is a truly special place. Stepping into the lush, tropical gardens you feel complete peace and tranquility.

Take a leisurely stroll through the tall palm trees of this once regular gully; which has undergone a majestic transformation into an ornately designed garden. Meet the creator, Anthony Hunte, who is known to welcome guests with his fascinating stories. The picturesque and easy-to-walk paths offer many surprises, thanks to the superbly created series of mini-gardens, combining vibrant colors and textures of rare exotic plants, offering visitors an uplifting and fulfilling experience.

What is your top insider’s tip for enjoying the island like a local?

Though only 166 square miles and thousands of smiles wide, there is a lot to see in Barbados! The best way to get around is to hire a car and plan where you want to go. The plantation houses, gardens, historical sites, cities and beaches will be minutes within each other.
