Dissapointed
As an Accor diamond partner card holder I would have expected more, even as a regular;ar guest the stay was below par. No pre-check in communication at all. At check in on a Wednesday at 17:50 of all the available counters only 2 are operational. The All Accor counter closed. A 10 minute wait to check in - had issues to secure late check out, however this got resolved.
The room (suite) was nice, modern, however the sheer in the bedroom had terrible brown stains on the edge. Everything is high tech and some are sensor controlled, however they do not work properly. At 04:00 in the morning the wardrobe light and bed light turn on by itself (guess I turned around in bed and the sensor caught it) - in the morning in bathroom, during shaving suddenly all the lights turned off and I stood in the dark. Not an issue go out switch on light, all good - but for a Fairmont? Informed the hotel to check the sensors and we were told that work was carried out, however, during the next few days the same issues, we gave up.
The Gold lounge, had high expectations, but bitterly disappointed. The staff was very pleasant, but the food offered was below quality and standard and breakfast luke warm. Afternoons, only beverage is available, but got some cookies with my coffee once I pestered the staff. Not sure what is so special about
this lounge and service?
Breakfast in the Prego restaurant, very busy, and the food mid-level at most, bread stale, tasteless, danish bought in from a manufacturer, cheap and basic - could go on but I leave it at that.
Check out a similar story, this time on a Saturday at 16:00, however this time 3 stations were open. Waiting some time, then a Front office manager took pity on me and checked us out.
Overall extremely disappointing stay.
