My family and I stay at Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu once a year and for the past two years for an additional long weekend in the autumn. It's conveniently located and well appointed. The restaurants are a bit limited and pricey but there are other choices nearby. My only concern this trip was when a family member was in one of the elevators and it suddenly stopped, shook a bit, seemed to lose all power for a moment or two and then continued to work. He immediately contacted reception to tell them about it so they could deactivate it until the problem was fixed and to avoid anyone getting stuck in it. Half an hour later when trying to go down to the lobby, I discovered the elevator was still working as it kept coming to my floor (4th) when I pressed the button. I had to reach in and press a button then get out before the door closed so that I could call another elevator. When I got down to the lobby, I noticed a young boy all by himself getting out of the defective elevator. Imagine if he'd been stuck in the elevator! I went to reception and told the guy working there who said he'd make a note of it. A half hour later I noticed it was still operating and I noticed two staff members standing across the room from reception seemingly observing how reception was working. I went over to speak with them about the elevator and they simply said that they have a problem with another elevator in the building and technicians are working on it so they'll have them take a look at it. I suggested they have the potentially defective one shut down to prevent a bigger problem, and they seemed to just shrug it off. I find this attitude quite unprofessional for a hotel of this class. Other than the elevator problem, our stay was fine. Also, since the next page of this survey only allows 255 characters for comments about booking problems, I'll add the second one here. I received an offer for a Casino Privilege Plus rate, and when I clicked on the link, it took me to the Accor website, which allowed me to book two rooms with the Casino Privilege Plus rate for the same dates. However, when I called the hotel to have them put a note on the file so that we might have our two rooms close together, I was told I was not supposed to have two rooms at that rate for the same dates, and that I would have to cancel one of the rooms. I called Accor and theyt old me the same thing. I called the Manoir again and was able to keep the second room by putting it in another family member's name (he also had Privilege Plus status). The Manoir staff told me the Accor site has no way of knowing the Casino rules, but if you're going to be promoting the Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu as "Hotel-Casino" package then some better coordination should be done. Furthermore, I went to the reception before leaving this past Thursday with a question about Privilege Plus booking for the future and the staff member told me he has no knowledge of how it works, and I should ask at the Casino. However, when I asked the girl at the Casino desk, she knew nothing about it and told me to go ask at the Manoir! I told her they sent me to her, so she simply went to the Casino website to read me rules I already knew!
Excellent location, top notch services/amenities. Warm, helpful and knowledgeable staff.
We were overwhelmed by our experience. It is very difficult to find even one negative aspect. One of the few times that we were sad to go home.
Very disappointed with our stay as to service and quality in the dining room. Breakfast was satisfactory as it was a buffet requiring little service.

Beautiful massive hotel with picturesque views everywhere. Hotel is very well maintained along with the gardens. Took the larger room which is very big, great bed. Furniture needs to be replaced and the room should be updated. Bathroom is ok but very small. Pools spas and restaurants very nice. Underground access is available for the casino next door whic has a St Hubert restaurant inside!
We are an older couple who went to the Fairmont in Charlevoix for the first time. We went there to relax and sleep in, which we were not able to do because our room was next to a young family with a crying baby and young children who got up at the same time as the sun. Plus, we had a communicating door to their room which made the noise even louder. When checking out we mentioned that we could not understand why being such a large hotel, they could not place all families in the same area and couples in another. Finally, the telephone shower head was broken in our bathroom, only the cascade shower head was functioning. How can this be in a 5-star hotel? Very disappointed and tired couple.
