Beautiful hotel and nice staff. We checked in between 3 and 4 pm. We were thrilled to be given an upgrade to an oceanfront room. Did not ask for it. View was amazing and we came back to room at night to sleep and was surprised to hear very loud music outside our window. We spent 3 nights listening to this music until 2 am coming from the Bungalow. Our upgrade turned out to be a downgrade and it was common knowledge to staff that this room is a problem. Question is why would they knowingly put us in that room. This room should come with a warning and/or a significant discount. Shame on you Fairmont. Please treat your guests with respect.

Your staff is most courteous and proficient, and the facility is beautifully maintained. That said, elevators being out of order is a Big Deal! The fact that they’ve been out of order for such an extended period is an even Bigger Deal. You, of course, must see to the safety of your guests and are, therefore, at the mercy of parts/technician availability. Amidst this deficiency you continue to charge stoutly for a full, luxury experience. I do not count mandatory use of the freight elevators as part of a luxury experience. At a minimum, Hospitality 101 would teach that some form of registering the Hotel’s recognition of this major inconvenience would have been appropriate. Drink coupons at one of your bars, appetizers on the house at one of your restaurants, a bagel and coffee. This would hardly break your bank, and would at least signal to your guests that the shortcoming, while temporarily unavoidable, is noted.
How come such an upscale hotel cannot prepare a simple breakfast? I ordered well-done omelets and what it came back is a liquid blob which is indescribably disgusting to eat.
Returned with my wife for an eight-night stay June 13-21. Last here in 2016 and six previous early summer breaks. Fairmont did not disappoint, especially Jose in Guest Services, Jordan and Kitty nightly in the acclaimed FIG restaurant, and amazing Annalis at poolside. You deliver good service because you should, but these four gave outstanding service because they love their jobs. Their depth of friendliness and impeccable service are likely unrivaled in Santa Monica. It was extremely hard to depart and return home. California and the Fairmont Miramar are gems!

Great hotel
The valet company was horrible. The lead lady was rude most of the time, Deana or something was her name. She also had contradictory information regarding my ticket. She does not represent the Fairmont well.
Made me wait until the absolute last second to check in. Even though they told us we were put into a priority list for our room. Also, we paid for an Ocean view. I was told I was put on a good floor with a good view when calling ahead, however the counter change my room and put me into a partial view on the opposite end of the hotel for a room that cost over $600 for one night, after calling an being misled we moved forward with the reservation. But I can honestly say it was my worst fairmont experience yet.
Nice rooms, friendly staff who can't do enough for you. Ideal location with a good bit of history. Good food and a mix of bars to keep every one happy. Pool could possibly be a bit bigger or find a way to supply more sun beds. Possibly enforcing the 30 min rule on the signs might help.

Excellent hotel, with a fun lobby. Great vibes, lobby restaurants and bar, coffee bar with treats, spa and work out facilities, outstanding pool with food and beverage service.
