The Fairmont Royal York is proud to partner with the Royal Ontario Museum for the once-in-a-lifetime exhibition. Dead Sea Scrolls Package guests will have the opportunity to see what is being called the most significant, archaeological discovery of the past century.
The Dead Sea scrolls consist of roughly 900 documents, including texts from the Hebrew Bible, which were discovered between 1947 and 1956 in eleven caves in and around the ancient settlement of Khirbet Qumran, on the northwest shore of the Dead Sea. The texts are of great religious and historical significance as they include some of the only known surviving copies of Biblical documents made before 100 CE. They are written in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek, written on parchment and papyrus, and generally date from between 150 BCE to 70 CE.
For a limited time only, you can stay at Toronto's Landmark Hotel and visit this ancient exhibition in one extraordinary package.
