For the pricing, I would expect more. The lobby was beautiful, and the welcome staff was nice. The parking lot and back grounds of the property seemed a tad unsafe. The sink faucet had a slow drain, but the bathroom was nicely designed.

The Sonoma Mission Inn has been a favorite place of mine for decades. The property is beautiful, the staff gracious and the food wonderful. The only downside is that the pool does not open until 9am and if you are traveling for business that means you probably won't get to enjoy it, which is a shame because it is lovely.

We normally love staying at all Fairmont hotels & normally find them extremely over the top with service. Prior to our stay we spoke to the concierge & requested extra pillow along with two flatter style pillows as we both have neck problems. When we got to our room the flat pillows were not there (not a problem) so we simply called the front desk to request some be brought up along with some water for the room. We were told they would be. The waters arrived & we tipped the bell hop & thanked him for the water, but the pillows were still not brought up. It took 3 separate calls before someone else brought them up which we then again tipped that person. The next issue was the water for the room. We learned that waters are not provided unless you ask because there are filling stations around the hotel for water. If we had known this, we would have brought water containers from home to fill, so each day we had to keep asking for water. Our room was a suite & had a soaking tub. When our bellman brought our bags up, he was surprised to see that the normal amenities were not in the room for the tub. He said there is normally soap, lotions & a candle for the soaking tub. We would not have known anything was missing but he said he was going to look into it. Later we found soap at our door but nothing else like the candle or special amenities he had mention. Each day we left our maid a nice tip in the hopes maybe the additional things would show up, but they never did. At checkout we asked if we could see the top-level suite to see if we would like to perhaps book that for our next trip in. The hotel was pretty empty at this point because it was a Monday, but the front desk said although the room was available to look at, he was the only one there so no one could show us & he forgot to ask if he could give us the key to look at it on our own. Very disappointing as we thought we might upgrade our stay next time we come. We had planned to visit often, but now we are not sure.
We had a wonderful stay, great service, comfortable bed and pillows. Spa was also perfect. The Watsu pool was so relaxing. We borrowed bikes and rode them to downtown the first day. The second night we got a ride from Pat. We went on a hike with Ed and I was able to borrow sneakers, since i accidentally forgot mine at home. Overall a wonder stay, hope to make it back again soon.

Everything is close to what we expected except for the condition of the room type. When we booked the room, we specifically requested a room from the newer building.

My husband has leukemia and suffers from night sweats. Our air conditioner was not working properly. We notified the front desk and was told they would take care of it right away. We went to dinner and came back 3 hrs later and they still had not been to our room. We called again and they said they would be there right away. We went out for cocktails and came back and they still had not fixed it. When we called a third time they said they talked to engineering and that it cold not be fixed until the next day. They offered to bring us a potable air conditioner right away and we said ok. After an hour and they still did not show up we finally just went to bed. 30 min later a knock on the door and they brought us a fan. Extremely disappointed. We were out that next day and came home in the late afternoon. It was still not fixed and we just gave up on them ever fixing it. This is terrible service!!
