Relaxing & Wonderful Service

This was our second year in a row spending our easter holiday at the Fairmont. It is one of our most favorite hotels. The history and the infrastructure is beyond words. The staff is some of the friendliest and most dedicated we have experienced. Our only complaint was that our rooms in the main hotel were a bit tired and the the windows were filthy. But we will be back - the hotel and the people are too awesome not to enjoy. Thank you for another great family trip.

Disappointed with Fairmont San Juan

We checked out early because our stay was very disappointing. You can se where at one time the hotel was lovely, but it has since lost its luster and is living off of the Fairmont name. The rooms are run down, showers leaked into the entry way. There was no beach service, half the gym equipment was broken, the valet dented our car, and the staff was more miss than hit with customer service. The price of our two rooms was crazy high though we booked through Fairmont early, even the manager could not deny we were overcharged… would have saved $3k to check out early and rebook the same day for the rest of our trip! So overall, it was not worth the stay, and I wouldn’t recommend it. I am glad we left early.

Very fair to poor stay

As soon as I got into my Oceanview room, I was delighted by the beautiful view of the crescent ocean sight. However, as I settled in the room, I found stains on the chaise lounge, the chair and the wooden credenza had an ugly burnt mark on it. I was very upset that a room that you categorize as deluxe had these awful sights in the room. The furniture was dated like back when you opened 60 years ago! I quickly let it known that I was dissatisfied, with one your managers called Karen Soto (I think). She offered to change the room or take off some amount off my final bill. However, I suggested that she at least take off one night's stay (equivalent to $429.00). She refused, so I wanted to speak to Mr.Padin. She said he was busy. I went to my room and said to her I will think about it as I had other things to attend to. However, I let her know about the stains and burnt wood and took pictures of it. I would like to recommend highly, a Mr. Holvin Mojica, Banquet Manager who attended to my preferences in the Welcome party the 1st night I stayed on April 11th, 2024! He was so attentive and gathered the spirits for a drink that I wanted. He was just wonderful!! When, I was checking out, the manager Karen (I think) deducted a couple of hundred dollars of my final bill. However, I do think I should have been credited a full night's stay for staying in a dirty room. That is all for now if you have any questions about my concerns you can call me @ 21…. Great Hospitality and Location

We had the most wonderful experience at Hotel El San Juan. The service was wonderful and everyone was very friendly and helpful and even upgraded our room for free. The amenities were very nice as well and location was perfect! We will definitely return! It far exceeded our expectations!

hotel is beautiful, but hallways and rooms are outdated and need remodeling, smells bad, and there is hardly any lights for dressing and makeup.

Great locatio

I have always enjoyed the El San Juan hotel, however, I did not enjoy the loud (boom boom) of music in the Club area, which can still be heard at the main pool and beach. I Feel the grounds are not taken care of as they were in the past.

Perfect

Perfect accommodation! Every detail thought out to better meet guests' expectations, staff education, wonderful swimming pools, shows at Cabaret do Chico, view from the room, the decades-old tree being preserved and beautiful... Everything was beautiful and perfect, but what caught my attention the most and will certainly never forget is the smell of the lobby, simply unforgettable. Unique experience .

Great location, lots of amenities.

The Fairmont is easily reached from the airport and had all the amenities we could want--multiple pools, restaurants, workout room, Starbucks, casino, etc. The property was always immaculate and sits on a beautiful beach. There were always plenty of chairs either on the beach or at the pool so we never had an issue. Waitstaff was always very attentive and brought food or drinks as we wanted. The rooms were comfortable, but with more than two people in a room (which they say can accommodate 4) it gets a little tight. The bathrooms are very small and not in keeping what I would expect from a 5-star resort. That was my only real disappointment--there just wasn't enough room to spread out and really relax. We did several excursions away from the property and mostly relied on Uber, which was always quick and the drivers were very friendly. We did rent a car one day to drive to Fajardo and having Enterprise directly across the street from the hotel was a big plus. Restaurants on site were nice, but extremely expensive, and the shops were ridiculous. $54 for sunscreen when you could walk two blocks to CVS and get it for $10. Overall, we had a wonderful time, just know that a resort has lots of "fees" for just about everything and it all costs more than it should. Leave the resort to eat and get snacks for your room. Microwaves in the room would be a nice feature! If we have to pay $25 for hamburger it would nice to heat up any leftovers!

Underground room

I was surprised that my room was located in an area where I could only see outside through about 25% of my window. I’m hoping these rooms are only given to people who come to visit on a room block because they are definitely not worth the cost.
